Yesterday, while in Manhattan I saw two groups of corporate softball players. Some where hailing a cab and the others (who had awesome jerseys were loading onto a school bus. Holy crap they have a bus to go to softball!
It brought me back to my days on the Disney softball team, which folded after the White Plains move. Three glorious summers. Well the first one was glorious, we just stunk it up in years 2 and 3.
Regardless of our record it was always fun. I remember how long the afternoons before a game seemed. Sitting behind my desk in my uniform finishing up last minute things. And then it would be time to jump on a train for the field. Fully grown adults were giddy like little leaguers impatiently waiting to get to 57th street, to the cathedral of all softball fields ... Central Park.
