When you are a kid there are things that seem impossible to do. But today I was able to do one of those things. When I was a freshman in high school and I briefly played on the JV football team; one of the drills that we had to do was run around the backstops at Juniper Valley Park, where we had our practices. I couldn't do it. I always had to stop, my teammates sometimes had to drag me by the shoulder pads. I only lasted a few weeks on the team. I was never able to make it around.
Today, I made my way to Juniper to do my run. And I decided to run the backstops, and all these years later I was able to make it around. I am not fast and there was a walking stretch in the middle but there was no stopping. Next I have to run the hill at CK.
