We are very focused on our kids reading. Every night they have to be read to, and my daughter more and more is reading to us. But everything is just for school or for sleeping time. What my wife and I would really like is for them to read for fun and pleasure.
Both of us are avid readers, I wish I had more time to dedicate to reading. But as a work from home dad, there isnt a commute everyday to give me time to read. I am also a very slow reader. My wife who is a super fast reader, devours books and short stories during her commute. But right now we are both reading some good books.
My wife is reading Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng for her book group. And I just started reading Ernest Cline's Ready Player One. I have heard a lot of good things about it. And hopefully if the kids see us reading, they will want to do the same.
Does anyone have any tips to encourage kids to read?
